COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Division of Police has identified the suspect accused of killing one person and injuring another on the city’s west side early Monday.
Police announced 29-year-old Christopher Campos-Hernandez is charged with the aggravated murder of 24-year-old Jacob Stratton and the felonious assault of a woman.
Officers were called to the 5000 block of Belmore Drive, just west of Hilliard-Rome Road, around 4:40 a.m. for a burglary in progress.
At the scene, officers found Campos-Hernandez fighting with Stratton and the other victim.
Officers were able to detain Campos-Hernandez and he was taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries he sustained before police arrived.
Stratton was taken to Doctors Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:21 a.m. Police did not disclose what caused Stratton’s death.
The female victim was taken to the hospital and treated for her injuries before being released.
During the course of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for Campos-Hernandez’s residence.
While searching, police found a third victim, 25-year-old Jesus Campos-Hernandez. He was pronounced dead shortly after 8 a.m.
Police did not say how Jesus died and no one has been charged in his death at this time.
