COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 15-year-old boy accused of driving a stolen Kia and killing a man in a crash last month is facing new charges.
A Franklin County juvenile court judge amended the charges against Kaleb Baker on Friday. The teen is now charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, a first-degree felony, and involuntary manslaughter, a third-degree felony in addition to a receiving stolen property charge.
On Nov. 25, a Kia Optima was reported stolen from the Lincoln Village neighborhood.
Hours later, Franklin County Sheriff deputies saw the Kia and attempted to pull it over. Less than a minute later, the Kia crashed after Baker allegedly ran a stop sign and crashed into a Honda Civic.
The driver of the Honda, 36-year-old Matthew Moshi, died days later.
Baker and three other juveniles were taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries.
Baker will continue to be held in the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center.
