HILLIARD, Ohio — A 17-year-old boy was charged Wednesday after police accused him of firing shots into a home near the Scioto River last year.
Police said the teen is charged with improper discharge into a habitation. He was arrested on March 29.
On Dec. 19, 2023, the Hilliard Division of Police responded to an area north of Fishinger Road near the river on reports of shots fired. Hours later, a resident discovered multiple bullets that struck their home. One of the bullets went through their kitchen and another into a nursery.
No injuries were reported, but detectives found empty shell casings on the ground by the Griggs Reservoir Shelter House.
Surveillance video captured images of three people near the shelter house the same night. One of them was holding a firearm while two others stood behind him.
Police did not say whether they identified the other two people seen in the images or if they would face charges.
