COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man who has been wanted since 2021 in connection to the murder of a 4-year-old boy during a home burglary was arrested Saturday morning, according to U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.
Members of the task force arrested 22-year-old Andre McCoy, who was indicted on charges of aggravated murder, attempted murder, felonious assault and aggravated burglary. He was found at a home in the 1100 block of Parkhill Drive in Youngstown.
On Sept. 21, 2020, McCoy, 18-year-old Brandon Crump and 26-year-old Kimonie Bryant were allegedly involved in a home invasion. Four people were injured and 4-year-old Rowan Sweeney was murdered after shots were fired during the robbery, according to the task force.
Bryant surrendered to law enforcement shortly after the shooting and Crump was arrested by task force members over a month later.
NOVFTF said in a release that they have been searching for McCoy for over two years and offered up to $10,000 in rewards for information leading to his arrest.
U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “Our task force never stopped looking for justice for Rowan Sweeney, today that justice comes in the form of the last suspect arrested for the violent, tragic, and needless death of a little boy.”
