2 men arrested following shooting, police pursuit in south Columbus

Police said the shooting stemmed from a verbal argument.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two men were arrested following a shooting in south Columbus Tuesday night, police said.

Just after 11:10 p.m., officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to an apartment complex in the 2900 block of Watermill Street, located west of South High Street, for a reported shooting.

Police learned that the shooting victim took themselves to the hospital. They were shot in the lower body and are expected to survive their injuries.

While arriving at the scene, officers saw the suspect vehicle leaving the apartment complex. A pursuit then began and lasted several minutes.

Police said the vehicle eventually stopped to comply with a traffic stop.

The driver, 34-year-old Christopher Moore, was arrested and charged with failure to comply for fleeing the police. The passenger, 30-year-old Diquan Moore, was arrested and charged with felonious assault as he is accused of being the shooter.

Police said the shooting stemmed from a verbal argument.
