ATHENS, Ohio — Authorities arrested a man in Athens County on Tuesday accused of trafficking cocaine.

The Southeast Major Crimes Drug Task Force finished a long-term investigation of drug trafficking in Athens County after arresting 24-year-old Connor McCune, according to a release from the Athens County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities served a warrant at a residence on North Congress Street where over three ounces of suspected cocaine, numerous pounds of marijuana, controlled prescription pills, cash and guns were seized.

McCune, originally from Springfield, was taken to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail where is being held on three felony charges: trafficking in drugs, having weapons while under disability and possession of a controlled substance.

Athens County Sheriff Rodney Smith said a separate search warrant was served into the safe of a roommate. Officials found more cocaine and money in the safe, according to Smith.

Charges are being submitted to the Athens County Prosecutor's Office for grand jury review on everyone involved in the investigation.
