SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio — A man is facing multiple charges after he was accused of raping two children under the age of 10, according to the Scioto County Sheriff's Office.
On Sunday, the sheriff’s office received a call from a woman who said that two juveniles under the age of 10 — one of whom was her daughter — were sexually assaulted.
Sheriff David Thoroughman said the detectives worked with the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit to interview victims and witnesses. In their investigation, detectives were able to identify 31-year-old Jonathan Gold, of Wheelersburg, as the suspect.
Gold was detained when deputies located his apartment in the 1200 block of Bihl Lane. Detectives searched his apartment and collected evidence.
Gold was charged with 10 counts of rape of a child under the age of 10, which is a felony of the first degree. Additionally, he was charged with one count of pandering obscenity involving a minor, a felony of a second degree.
Thoroughman said more charges will be filed as the investigation is ongoing.
Gold is being held in jail on a $1,002,000 bond.
