SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio — A Portsmouth man is accused of sending a middle school girl sexually related photos on social media and attempting to meet with her to have sex.
A detective with the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office received a call on Monday from an adult probation officer. The officer said they were made aware of a 35-year-old man who was talking with a middle school student on social media.
The suspect, identified as Sean Freeman, was allegedly talking with the student and sent her pictures of his genitals, according to the sheriff’s office. Freeman then proposed to meet the student at an undisclosed location to have sex.
Detectives and Scioto County probation officers located Freeman’s home and detained him without incident. Evidence was also collected.
Freeman is charged with one count each of importuning, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and disseminating matter harmful to a juvenile. The sheriff’s office said more charges could be filed at a later date.
He is being held in jail without bond.
