GROVE CITY, Ohio — The U.S. Marshals Office is assisting the Grove City Division of Police in the search for a man accused of kidnapping a woman twice this summer.
Quinntel Bagley, 38, is wanted for aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, failure to comply, parole violation for kidnapping and failure to register as a sex offender.
On June 13, Grove City police responded to a report of a missing woman. Detectives learned that Bagley surprised the woman at her home, grabbed her and forced her into his vehicle.
The woman was found at a gas station three hours after the first report was issued. Officers also found Bagley and arrested him a short time later.
Grove City officers escorted Bagley to a cruiser after he received treatment at Fairfield Medical Center for some injuries. Police say he escaped officers and ran out of a parking garage and into a wooded area nearby.
That same day, police said Bagley reportedly broke into a home, stole a Hyundai Sante Fe at knifepoint and drove away. The vehicle was located in the area of U.S. 33 and Hamilton Road.
In an update Friday, Grove City Police Lt. Jason Stern said Bagley was seen near Eureka Avenue and West Broad Street in the Hilltop neighborhood. Around 6 a.m., a woman told police Bagley kidnapped her from her Grove City home and drove her to west Columbus.
Stern said the woman was able to get away from Bagely unharmed. The lieutenant added that it was the same woman who was a victim of the kidnapping incident on June 13.
The woman reported that Bagley was wearing dark clothing and he had a mask covering part of his face.
"You should treat him as armed and dangerous. We are asking for any help anyone can offer if you see him call us right away, call 911," Stern said.
A neighbor who lives near where the woman was kidnapped said the news that Bagley was back terrified her.
“I’m shocked he came back. The police have been over this neighborhood constantly riding through. It really scares me that he came back,” said Karen Schnider.
Schnider said her neighborhood is a quiet place, filled with families and elderly couples. But, now she feels like she has to be on the lookout for Bagley.
“I pray for the poor girl, she must be terrified of him. I just pray that the cops find him,” said Schnider.
The U.S. Marshal's Office offers up to a $5,000 reward for Bagley's arrest. Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911 or 614-469-5540. Grove City Mayor Richard Stage also announced a $5,000 reward for information leading up to Bagley's arrest.
