GROVE CITY, Ohio — Authorities arrested a man accused of kidnapping a woman in Grove City on Thursday.
The Grove City Division of Police said officers responded to a report of a missing woman around 4 a.m. The officers believed the woman was kidnapped by 38-year-old Quinntel Bagley.
Three hours after the first report, officers found the woman at a gas station. Officers also found Bagley and arrested him a short time later, police said.
According to a release, detectives determined Bagley surprised the woman at her residence, grabbed her and forced her into his vehicle.
Bagley is charged with aggravated burglary and kidnapping. Police say Bagley has an extensive criminal history and is also a registered sex offender.
The woman was treated for minor injuries.
Several hours later, the Lancaster Police Department says it responded to the Fairfield Medical Center to help find an escaped prisoner, identified as Bagley.
According to police, Bagley escaped from the custody of an agency attempting to transport him after treatment.
Bagley reportedly gained control of a grey 2019 Hyundai Sante Fe in the 700 block of Pleasantville Road in Lancaster. Grove City police say the vehicle was later located in the area of state Route 33 and Hamilton Road.
Police are currently searching the area.
Bagley is considered to be armed and dangerous and members of the public should not approach him and call 911 instead.
