2 men found shot, killed inside southeast Columbus home

A dispatcher with the city's public safety department told 10TV that someone was doing a wellness check at the home when they found the bodies inside.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two men were shot and killed inside a home in southeast Columbus Tuesday morning, police said.

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to the home in the 1200 block of Seymour Avenue, located south of East Whittier Street, around 9:55 a.m.

A dispatcher with the city's public safety department told 10TV that someone was doing a wellness check at the home when they found two men shot inside. They were pronounced dead by medics at 10:06 a.m. 

Police identified one of the men was identified as 45-year-old Darrell Walker. The Franklin County Coroner's Office identified the second man as 48-year-old Reginald Purnell.

The dispatcher added that a back window was broken and a rifle was also found inside the home.
