Police: Woman shot in Hilltop earlier this year passes away

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Division of Police is now investigating a shooting that happened in the Hilltop almost six months ago as a homicide after the victim recently passed away.

The shooting happened on March 26 in the area of North Harris Avenue near Steele Avenue just after 10:30 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene they found the victim, identified as 27-year-old Elizabeth Brice, lying in a garage. Police said she had been shot twice.

Brice was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. Police said Brice succumbed to her injuries on Sept. 26.

The following day, the Franklin County Coroner ruled the manner of death as a homicide. The shooting is now being investigated by the homicide unit.

Her death is the 106th homicide investigation in Columbus this year.
