COLUMBUS, Ohio — A grand jury indicted an 18-year-old man on multiple murder and robbery charges in connection to a fatal shooting in east Columbus last month.
Mi'Shawn Thomas was indicted on one count of aggravated murder, two counts of murder, two counts of aggravated robbery, one count of felonious assault and two counts of having weapons while under disability.
On Nov. 14 around 10:30 p.m., officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to the 900 block of Eton Grove, located in the Mount Vernon neighborhood, on a report of a shooting.
Darnell Brown-Jones, 18, was found with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:38 p.m.
Thomas and 19-year-old Giavon Hayes were arrested and charged with murder around a week later.
Police said a preliminary investigation revealed robbery as a possible motive in the shooting.
Hayes has not yet been indicted.
