MANSFIELD, Ohio — The Mansfield Police Department is investigating a shooting on Wednesday afternoon that left a 16-year-old dead.
Officers were called to the 60 block of East Chestnut Street just after 2 p.m. on a report of a shooting. The 16-year-old was located inside the home with what appeared to be a gunshot wound, police said.
The victim was transported to Ohio Health Mansfield where they were pronounced dead.
Detectives are working to determine what led up to the shooting and identify any suspects.
