Man, woman accused of stealing credit cards from victims attending yoga classes in central Ohio

Police say Tevin Gray and Amirah White used fake identities to sign up for classes at several central Ohio yoga studios and then steal the credit cards during class.

GRANDVIEW HEIGHTS, Ohio — A man and woman have been charged for allegedly entering several yoga studios in central Ohio and stealing credit cards from victims while they were attending classes.

According to the Grandview Heights Division of Police, 34-year-old Tevin Gray, of Columbus, and 39-year-old Amirah White, of California, would enter the studios and sign up for classes using fake identities. They allegedly worked together to commit thefts during the classes.

Police say Gray and White quickly used the credit cards, resulting in the loss of thousands of dollars.

Multiple victims have been identified in several central Ohio locations, including two in Grandview Heights:

  • GoYoga, 1520 W. First Ave.
  • Modo Yoga, 1041 Dublin Rd.

Arrest warrants were issued for Gray and White, who are both charged with burglary and receiving stolen property.

Grandview Heights detectives arrested Gray on Aug. 19 while they were executing a search warrant at a residence in Columbus. White has not been located and authorities believe she has traveled back to California.

Anyone who may have been a victim of theft while attending a yoga class at any central Ohio location between the dates of July 21 and Aug. 10 is asked to contact 614-488-7901 and speak with a detective.
