COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man pleaded guilty to robbery in connection to a shooting that killed a man in north Columbus more than a year ago.
The shooting happened on the morning of Dec. 3, 2021, in the 1800 block of Oak Grove Court.
When police arrived, they found Anthony Dickerson sitting inside of a vehicle with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said the shooting stemmed from an attempted robbery.
Eric Shaw, 21, pleaded guilty to robbery with a gun specification in the case. He was sentenced to six to seven and a half years in prison. He will be eligible for post-release control supervision sometime after six years.
In September 2022, Deshajuan Carpenter, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter with a gun specification. Carpenter, who was 17 at the time of the shooting, was sentenced to 10 to 13 and a half years in prison. He will be eligible for post-release control supervision after 10 years.
