HOCKING COUNTY, Ohio — A Cincinnati man was arrested after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized about two pounds of methamphetamine from his vehicle during a traffic stop in Hocking County Tuesday afternoon.
Troopers stopped a GMC Terrain on U.S. Route 33 for a window tint violation, according to a release from OSHP. During the stop, the troopers reportedly smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.
The driver, 48-year-old James Toran, admitted to having illegal marijuana in his possession.
Troopers searched the vehicle and found approximately two pounds of meth, worth nearly $6,000, in a plastic container and seven grams of marijuana in the center console.
Toran was taken to the Hocking County jail. He is charged with possession of drugs, aggravated trafficking in drugs and tampering with evidence.
If convicted, he could face up to 25 years in prison and pay a fine of up to $50,000.
