COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man charged with murder in a shooting that left another man dead in northeast Columbus last week was given a $2 million bond.

The shooting happened on Sept. 16 inside an apartment complex in the 4200 block of Cleveland Avenue, just south of Morse Road.

The Columbus Division of Police said 28-year-old Cordell Tatney was visiting a friend when he was shot by 25-year-old Deontae Daniel. Tatney was taken to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center where he later died.

Police said two children under the age of 2 were inside the apartment when the shooting took place. No one else was reported injured.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office website says Daniel was arrested on Monday. He is scheduled to be in court again next week.
