COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Columbus man accused of killing two people and injuring another outside a northeast Columbus shopping center last year pleaded guilty to multiple murder charges on Thursday.

Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney Gary Tyack said 38-year-old Jonathan Pigram pleaded guilty to two counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder and one count of weapons under disability on an unrelated case.

Pigram was accused of shooting and killing Cornet Powell and Dawn Dunn, both 41, and injuring another man on May 1, 2023.

Witnesses told police Pigram confronted the victims outside a pub on Cleveland Avenue and opened fire, killing Powell and Dunn. He reportedly shot at two additional victims, hitting one in the face and missing another.

Detectives with the Columbus Division of Police determined that Pigram did not know any of the victims.

Prosecutors are recommending a life sentence with the possibility of parole after 52 years.
