COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police are searching for a student accused of bringing a gun to Marion-Franklin High School on Tuesday.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, a parent called in a tip to school staff that one of two boys may have been in possession of the weapon.
The building administrator placed the building on a lockdown at approximately 1:44 p.m.
Before police arrived, school staff searched them both and found a pistol with a loaded magazine in the pocket of one of them. A 16-year-old boy left the building and ran away.
The school remained under lockdown for the remainder of the day. As a result, all after school activities scheduled for Tuesday were canceled.
