Police: Suspects break into 70 cars, steal 2 guns in Dublin

According to a spokesperson for the Dublin Police Department, the break-ins happened around 4 a.m. at three hotels.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — About 70 vehicles in Dublin were damaged and two guns were stolen during a spree of break-ins early Friday morning.

According to a spokesperson for the Dublin Police Department, the break-ins happened around 4 a.m. at three hotels:

  • Embassy Suites, 5100 Upper Metro Place
  • TownePlace Suites, 5155 Upper Metro Place 
  • Mooney Parking Garage, 6568 Longshore Drive

The city says four suspects appear to have been specifically looking for firearms in vehicles based on reports from owners.

Two firearms have been reported stolen out of the crime spree.

Police have a lead on the suspects' vehicle, which was reported stolen.

The city says officers will continue to provide extra coverage for the Dublin Irish Festival, though the break-ins are not isolated to Dublin or the festival.
