1 dead after Delaware County shooting

While the property was being cleared by the tactical unit, neighbors were advised to shelter in place.

DELAWARE, Ohio — One person is dead after a shooting in Delaware County early Sunday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies were called to a house in the 9000 block of Norton-Waldo Road in Marlboro Township on a report of shots fired around 3 a.m.

When deputies arrived, they found a male victim dead with an apparent gunshot wound.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

Several people at the scene have been detained while authorities continue to investigate. The sheriff’s office says charges are expected.

Detectives are looking for others who may have left the area prior to the deputies’ arrival.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is assisting in the investigation.
