COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two people were shot and killed at a park in east Columbus Monday night.
According to Sgt. Joe Albert with the Columbus Division of Police, the shooting happened at Krumm Park, located at 854 Alton Ave, just before 10 p.m.
First responders pronounced two victims, both men, dead at the scene at 10:07 p.m., police say. Investigators believe there were multiple shooters.
The Franklin County Coroner's Office identified the victims as 29-year-old Lonnie Johnston and 18-year-old Jakwaun Kimbro.
Earlier in the evening, a vigil was held at the park for 18-year-old Da’Mya Cummerlander. The woman was fatally shot early Sunday morning in the 2600 block of Woodsedge Road. Police say it is unclear if Monday night's shooting is connected to the vigil.
Albert said about 50 people were at the park for the vigil when officers arrived.
No information about a suspect was available.
