A victim's ringing cell phone may have helped break up an armed robbery in Dublin.

According to court documents, Mekonen Misanaw Getahun asked for money from a man sitting in a vehicle in a Chipotle parking lot Monday around 12:15 a.m. The driver, who was waiting to pick up an employee, refused to hand over any cash.

The victim claims Getahun soon returned with a handgun and demanded a cell phone, wallet and keys.

While Getahun was taking the items, the victim's phone rang, and Getahun handed it back.

The report says Getahun then walked across the street. Police apprehended him after a short chase.

Authorities say he still had a gun in his pocket. He was charged with Aggravated Robbery and his bond has been set at $500,000.
