Two People Killed After Early Morning Shooting In North Columbus

A crash scene turned into a crime scene in north Columbus when police realized that a driver and her passenger had both been shot before their car crashed.

It happened around 1:00 a.m. Friday morning along Roche Drive near the Eden Springs Apartments.

Police say 24-year-old Dorcas Law and her passenger, 22-year-old Delrec Avant, were driving in a vehicle when they were both shot in the upper body.  After being shot, their car crashed into parked cars and a fire hydrant.

Avant was taken to OSU Wexner Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at  7:45 a.m. Law was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital with life-threatening injuries. She was pronounced dead at 6:27 p.m.

Police are still working to get information about a possible suspects and a motive in the shooting.
