A Franklin County court granted a protection order for a teenager who said her father and step-mother were abusing her.

The court granted the protection order for Sarah Maynard, the only surviving victim of the deadly Knox County kidnappings in November 2010.

Maynard’s mother, Tina Hermann, her brother, Kody Maynard, and a close friend, Stephanie Sprang, were abducted and dismembered by Matthew Hoffman.

Sarah Maynard, who was 13 at the time, was the only survivor.

The protection order granted on Tuesday orders Maynard’s father, Larry Maynard, and stepmother, Tracy Maynard, to stay away from her.

According to court documents, Sarah Maynard said that Tracy has kicked her, and Larry threatened to kill her. Sarah reported the alleged incidents to a school administrator.

Both are charged with domestic violence and assault.

The alleged incidents occurred in the past month.
