A Marion County woman is behind bars accused in the death of her 6-month-old infant.
Deputies from the sheriff’s office were dispatched to a residence in the 1500 block of Southland Parkway June 18 on the report of a person not breathing.
Authorities arrived and found an infant who was unresponsive. The child was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Investigators determined the child’s mother, 26-year-old Tequila Mannering, had assaulted the child and was arrested.
Marion County Children Services took Mannering’s other child, a 3-year-old, into their custody.
The following day, authorities were told the 6-month-old, Aaden Lee Mannering, had passed away.
Mannering has been charged with murder, involuntary manslaughter and endangering children. She remains incarcerated.
