One person was hospitalized after a motorcycle gang fight at a club north of Mount Sterling, 10TV’s Danielle Elias reported on Saturday.
According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, the fight took place at the Missing Link Motorcycle Club along Anderson-Antioch Road at about 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
Lt. John Swaney of the sheriff’s office said that his department first got the call with reports of many people involved with weapons.
Once deputies sorted through the crowd, they found a few people fighting.
Swaney said the weapon of choice was a 2-inch-by-4-inch plank of wood.
“One of the reports was that there were over 70 people involved,” Swaney said. “That really wasn’t the case in this incident. There were only a few people involved. It’s just that it was a large party, so us not knowing what we were coming into, we asked for additional resources to come in and isolate the situation.”
A number of people suffered minor injuries, and one person was taken to a hospital after being beaten with the plank.
Deputies said that the motorcycle club would remain open to continue their weekend party, Elias reported.
