CENTRAL OHIO CRIME STOPPERS

Authorities are trying to solve a homicide that happened in northeast Columbus in 2011.

According to Central Ohio Crime Stoppers, Anthony Minnifield was shot and killed on Sept. 15, 2011 while working at "Mitch's Lounge" at 4400 Karl Road.

Investigators said Minnifield was cleaning up when an unidentified man approached Mitch's, but was unable to enter because the club was closed and the doors were locked. The man was seen trying to get Minnifield's attention before pulling out a handgun and firing several times through the glass doors, according to authorities. Minnifield was struck in the upper body and died at the scene.

Minnifield was involved in an altercation with the same unidentified man earlier in the night, according to investigators, but the reason is not known.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for any information leading to the arrest or indictment of the man. Anyone with information is asked to call 614-461-TIPS (8477).
