Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a motorcycle crash that killed one person in Muskingum County Saturday.

Just after 7 p.m. Saturday a semitrailer crashed into a motorcycle in the 900 block of Raiders Road on Ohio 16 in Adams Mills.

The driver of the motorcycle, Cory Cox, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene and the female passenger, Rachel Cox, 32, was taken by MedFlight to a hospital in Akron where she is in critical condition.

The driver had slowed to make a turn when the semitrailer struck them from behind.

Both were ejected from the motrocycle and the man was then hit by a car.

Neither victim was wearing a helmet and alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the accident.

No citations have been issued yet as this crash remains under investigation.
