Elvis Impersonator Makes Own Name By Fighting Clintonville Crime

The man known as the ‘Columbus King’ spends much of his time patrolling Columbus roads, looking to stop crime.

Elvis Week 2013 is underway at Graceland in Memphis, as fans from around the world celebrate the life and legacy of the King of Rock 'n' Roll.

Elvis died 36 years ago on Friday, and his legacy lives on through thousands of impersonators.

The "Columbus King" is a man known not only for his looks but also his crime fighting ability.

Billy Cash makes a practice of patrolling the alleys, roads, and paths in and around Clintonville.

His remarkable resemblance to the iconic figure intrigues many.

"He was walking by this guy that looks like Elvis and we had to, had to meet him!" said Karl Boettcher of Central Vineyard Church.

Residents and business owners in the area often refer to Cash as "Elvis" and call him a faithful neighborhood presence.

Cash says he used to be a bounty hunter, and he's very protective of his territory.

"I just don't like trouble makers," said Cash.

He says in Clintonville, he's run across many troublemakers. Cash says don't let his appearance fool you.

"They ask me, ‘Who are you?’ and I go ‘I'm your worst nightmare, get out of the car,’" said Cash.

He says he does not like it when people try and take what is not theirs or leave their ugly marks, like graffiti, behind.

"The reality is over the years, we have found since Billy has been around that the graffiti has gone down. It's a big problem for us, often having to repaint all over these buildings actually and just less trouble generally," said Boettcher.

Cash says he'll continue to patrol Clintonville and tip police off whenever he can.
