A Chauncey man is under arrest after authorities said he choked his girlfriend with a cord.
Cory Ringer, 25, was taken into custody Sunday around 3:30 p.m.
The Athens County Sheriff's Office said that Ringer's girlfriend said he choked her with a cell phone charging cord and held a knife to her neck.
Deputies said that Ringer admitted to choking the victim.
He's being charged with felonious assault.
Ringer is currently being held in the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail.
