Another Murder Charge Leveled Against Teen Accused In Clerk Homicide, Gas Station Shooting

The 17-year-old who is already facing multiple charges has been accused in another homicide. Find out more.

The 17-year-old, already facing charges in three shootings, two of which was fatal, has now been charged with another murder.

Devonere Earl O'Shay Simmonds has been charged in the death of Quinten Ellis-John Prater.

Prater, 22, and another man were found shot on the 700 block of Lilley Avenue on July 21. Prater was pronounced dead at the scene.

Prater's shooting death occurred just three days before the murder of store clerk Imran Ashgar. Ashgar was gunned down while working as a clerk in a convenience store on East Livingston Avenue.

Simmonds and 18-year-old Nathaniel Brunner were named as suspects in the Ashgar murder and were eventually charged with murder.

The two are also charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of 17-year-old Lamont Fraizer, who was found dead on July 25.

While authorities were searching for them, they said Simmonds and Brunner shot a man at a Madison County gas station in order to steal his car.

Simmonds and Brunner were eventually caught in Dayton, sleeping in the stolen vehicle.

Police have said that they believed Simmonds may have been tied to other shootings.

Simmonds' mother also told 10TV in July that her son, who was not in custody at the time, may have also been involved in another fatal shooting on July 21, the same day Prater was killed.
