Columbus police seek help identifying 2 persons of interest in shooting that killed 3 people

Police identified the victims as 27-year-old Malachi Pee, 18-year-old Da’ondre Bullock and 26-year-old Garcia Dixon Jr.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Division of Police is asking for help identifying two persons of interest in connection to a shooting that left three people dead and three others injured on the city's north side.

Officers were called out to the area of East 5th Avenue and Summit Street between the Italian Village and Weinland Park neighborhoods on May 18 for a reported shooting.

Bodycam video shows bystanders directing officers to the victims who were outside of a bar at the corner of Summit Street and East 5th Avenue. Other victims were across the street and down the block.

Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene and a third victim was pronounced dead at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Police identified the victims as 27-year-old Malachi Pee, 18-year-old Da’ondre Bullock and 26-year-old Garcia Dixon Jr.

Authorities released photos of two persons of interest on Tuesday who they say are possibly connected to the shooting.

A day after the shooting, a neighbor told 10TV he saw a lot of people running to "get out of the line of fire."

"They kicked out the back little door behind the Hookah bar to avoid the gunfire and I just seen a whole bunch of muzzle flashes," the neighbor said.

He said the bar at the corner wasn’t always like this and that it has changed in recent years.
“Since it's been under new ownership, a lot of stuff has happened. Fights break out, mostly people burning out with their cars and stuff like that,” he said.

Columbus City Attorney Zack Klein said the city's property action team is working with police to investigate any and all nuisance activity related to the bar and "all options remain on the table."

Anyone with information about the two persons of interest is asked to contact Detective Poliseno at 614-645-6420 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-8477.
