COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man was arrested Monday evening after he allegedly cut a man who had parked in front of his home in the Hilltop neighborhood with a machete, according to court documents.
The incident happened in the 300 block of Clarendon Avenue Monday afternoon. Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to the area on a report of a stabbing.
When they arrived, they talked to the victim who told officers that he parked his vehicle in front of a home on Clarendon Avenue. The victim said that the resident, later identified as 64-year-old Michael Lee, was upset that he parked in front of his house.
According to Franklin County Municipal Court documents, the two exchanged words over the parking spot before Lee went into the home and came out with a machete.
The affidavit says Lee reportedly swung at the victim, cutting his clothing and hitting his left arm – leaving a cut.
Lee then reportedly went back into the home where he barricaded himself and the victim called the police.
Police told 10TV that the two men involved are neighbors.
SWAT was called to the scene to assist. Lee eventually came out and was taken into custody.
The victim was OK and walked away with minor injuries, according to a police sergeant on the scene.
Lee was charged with felonious assault and was given a $10,000 bond. His next court appearance is on May 30.
