Chillicothe nurse practitioner charged with assault while allegedly drunk on job

Wilson was charged with two counts of assault and one count of disorderly conduct/intoxication, according to court records.

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A Chillicothe nurse practitioner was charged with assault after authorities say she was drunk on the job.

According to a police report, Allison Wilson was stumbling in the office and shoved a child at Family Urgent Care in Chillicothe on March 8.

“Her words were kind of slurring, she was stumbling just in the small area we were in. She was stumbling around the room,” said mom, Tonya Maddux.

Last Friday, Maddux brought her two sick 8-year-old kids to the urgent care on North Bridge Street.

“She repeated herself multiple times. I said to myself, I think she's intoxicated,” Maddux explained.

Maddux said Wilson saw her daughter first and scared her. Maddux explains when her daughter gets nervous, she puts her hands by her mouth.

“No sooner than she did that, she smacked her hands away from her face,” Maddux said.

Maddux says she comforted her daughter, and then Wilson checked over her son.

“She went over to my son and grabbed his hand to lead him to the exam table and before he could fully get on the seat, she shoved his head down,” Maddux said.

That's when Maddux took her kids and left.

While in the parking lot, she called police who arrested Wilson for two counts of assault and one count of disorderly conduct/intoxication, according to court records.

According to an incident report, Wilson had a Yeti thermos on her desk with a clear liquid that smelled like alcohol.

10TV reached out to Wilson by phone. She declined to give us an interview but said she will be contesting the charges and referred us to her attorney. 10TV left a message for him, but he did not return our call.

Wilson is also facing OVI charges from a traffic stop in Chillicothe two days before this incident.   According to court records, she refused to give a breath test or blood sample.

Maddux hopes Wilson is charged to the full extent of the law.

“A doctor's office should be a safe space where children feel safe. They feel sick, they are vulnerable, it makes a big impression,” Maddux said.

Wilson is scheduled to be back in court next month.

A manager from Family Urgent Care would not comment on-camera, but confirmed to 10TV Wilson has been terminated.
