Police identify victim, suspects in deadly south Columbus shooting

Police have taken two men into custody. Both men are charged with murder.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man was killed and another person was seriously injured after a shooting at an apartment complex on the city’s south side Monday afternoon, according to the Columbus Division of Police. Two men are in custody. 

The shooting happened around 1:30 p.m. on Buffalo Court, just west of Obetz, near the Indian Meadows Apartments.

One person, identified as 23-year-old Raqwan Ogelsby, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was taken to Grant Medical Center in serious condition. 

Police have taken two people into custody, 18-year-old Michael Twitty and 26-year-old Jachin Perry Jr. Both men are charged with murder and Perry is facing an additional charge of felonious assault.

Circumstances on what led to the shooting were not available.
