Judge gives $475,000 bond to man accused of kidnapping Grove City woman twice

A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Aug. 30.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man accused of kidnapping a woman twice in Grove City this summer, once while he was on the run from police, was arraigned on five felony charges on Thursday.

A Franklin County judge issued four separate bonds totaling $475,000 to 38-year-old Quinntel Bagley, who is charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, kidnapping, two counts of felony fleeing and eluding and failure to verify address.

The bonds are:

  • $200,000 for aggravated burglary/kidnapping
  • $150,000 for aggravated robbery
  • $100,000 for felony fleeing
  • $25,000 for failure to verify address

Bagley, who police say is a registered sex offender, was arrested in Lima last week after leading authorities on a two-month manhunt.

On June 13, Grove City police responded to a report of a missing woman. Detectives learned that Bagley surprised the woman at her home, grabbed her and forced her into his vehicle.

The woman was found at a gas station three hours after the first report was issued. Officers also found Bagley and arrested him a short time later.

Grove City officers escorted Bagley to a cruiser after he received treatment at Fairfield Medical Center for some injuries. Police say he escaped officers and ran out of a parking garage and into a wooded area nearby. The officers were later disciplined for not properly escorting Bagley.

That same day, police said Bagley reportedly broke into a home, stole an SUV at knifepoint and drove away. The vehicle was located in the area of U.S. 33 and Hamilton Road.

On Aug. 2, while still on the run, Grove City Police Lt. Jason Stern said Bagley kidnapped the same woman again from her home and drove her to west Columbus. She was able to escape unharmed.

The U.S. Marshals Office, along with other agencies, arrested Bagley in the 400 block of Cornell Drive in Lima last Friday.

A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Aug. 30.
