COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man was sentenced for his role in a 2023 robbery at an AutoZone store near Polaris where a man was killed while attempting to stop a robbery.
Blakely pleaded guilty to murder, engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity and felonious assault. He was also charged with aggravated murder and aggravated robbery, but those charges were dropped.
Blakely was the third suspect who was identified in the shooting at the auto parts store that led to the death of 43-year-old Alejandro Fajardo-Torres. Darius Wynn and Zackeyis Davis were also charged and sentenced in the incident.

Police said on Aug. 24, 2023, Davis, Wynn and Blakely were attempting to rob the AutoZone at 8338 Sancus Blvd. when Fajardo-Torres intervened and was shot. An employee was also injured.
Blakely was initially not named as a suspect in this incident, but court records stated that he, Davis, Wynn and "other unidentified individuals" took part in multiple robberies from May to September 2023. Some targeted locations include restaurants, fast food and two AutoZone stores.
Blakely was sentenced to life in prison with eligibility for parole after 33 years.
