FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — Deputies arrested two people near west Columbus who were inside a stolen vehicle with stolen merchandise, according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff’s office received calls about a GMC Denali that was reported stolen Thursday morning. Details on where it was stolen were not available.
The GMC was spotted at West Mound Street and Clarendon Avenue in the Hilltop neighborhood around 9:20 a.m. The sheriff’s office said OnStar, an in-vehicle communications system, helped reduce the vehicle’s speed to 10 mph.
Deputies spotted the vehicle driving through an apartment complex and boxed it in. Sheriff Dallas Baldwin assisted the deputies at the scene.
The sheriff’s office said two people were apprehended. Authorities also said apparent stolen merchandise from several retail stores was inside the stolen vehicle.
