Police: Juvenile seriously injured in south Columbus shooting

The victim was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A juvenile is seriously injured after a shooting in south Columbus Friday evening, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Officers were called on a report of a shooting in the 500 block of Cline Street just after 5:20 p.m., located near South High School. Upon arrival, police found a juvenile victim with a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.

Police have identified a suspect in the shooting as 18-year-old Tyrek McClain. McClain has been charged with felonious assault and is currently being held at the Franklin County Jail.
