Bond set at $1 million for man charged with murder in South Franklinton shooting

Christopher Smith is charged with two counts of murder for the deaths of 36-year-old Amanda Perkins and 40-year-old Rodney Reavish.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A $1 million bond has been set for a man accused of fatally shooting two people last week outside of a South Franklinton community center.

Christopher Smith is charged with two counts of murder for the deaths of 36-year-old Amanda Perkins and 40-year-old Rodney Reavish.

Perkins and Reavish were shot on the night of July 14 in the parking lot of the Van Buren Shelter off Van Buren Drive. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the shooting may have stemmed from an earlier confrontation.

Officers took Smith into custody the next day after learning his identity by reviewing video from the scene and talking to community members.

Smith is charged with two counts of murder. His next hearing is scheduled for July 26.
