Craigslist Makes It Easier For Ohio Consumers To Report Fraud

The Ohio Attorney General says Craigslist will make it easier to report potential scams to his office. Get the details.

Ohio on Thursday became the first state to help protect online shoppers using Craigslist.

The Ohio Attorney General said the deal with Craigslist could be a model for law enforcementagencies across the country, Consumer 10's Kurt Ludlow reported.
The company has agreed to put a direct link on its "scams and frauds" page that will takeconsumers to the AG's complaint Web site.

If you're scammed and you file a complaint, it'll now be tracked by the A-G's Financial CyberCrime Unit. 

"We have been doing battle with Craigslist because we don't like the personal ads and some ofthe, essentially, sex trafficking that goes on there, but we also have reached out to cooperatewith
them," said Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray. "See how they can help us enforce the lawagainst frauds and scams and predators and we're glad to have them working with us."

Cordray said his office gets hundreds of fraud complaints about Craiglist each year.
