Nonprofit launching pajama line for pediatric cancer patients in honor of Ohio woman who lost her battle in 2020

The small collection is called hallegrace in honor of Halle Temple, the young woman who inspired the concept and designs.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A new pajama line designed for children going through cancer treatment is about to hit the market.

The non-profit organization, Share Your Story Foundation, is launching this pajama line that is tailored to the unique needs of pediatric cancer patients. The pajamas have strategically placed adaptable closures which provide convenient access to ports and picc lines, soft fabrics and print designs that offer messages of hope and courage.

The small collection is called hallegrace in honor of Halle Temple, the young woman who inspired the concept and designs.

From the age of 6 years old, Halle was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a rare bone cancer, three times before passing away in May 2020.

Through her treatments, Halle was on a mission to make the lives of other cancer patients more comfortable, which is why her family kept her dream of a pajama collection alive.

"We just really wanted to create something that would bring just some joy to patients as they're having to sit in the hospital room and something they would have comfort in," said Julie Hershberger, Halle's mother and executive director of Share Your Story Foundation.

She said coming out with this collection is "a mixed bag of emotions" knowing that her late daughter had discussed it before she passed.

"I often think that I know she's watching and cheering us on, but there would be nothing better than for me to have her here being a part of this and to know that this is something she talked about," Hershberger said.

She said the goal of the collection is to make sure families know they are not alone, especially when their loved ones are going through treatments.

The hallegrace pajama collection launches on Sunday and will cost $38 per set. The website for the collection will not be active until the launch date.
