The Columbus Zoo is going wild for the birthday of it's oldest member. Colo the gorilla turns 58 today!

According to the Columbus Dispatch, the zoo's famous primate is pretty impressive. The average Western Lowland gorilla only lives to be 37. Not to mention, Colo is the first ever gorilla to be bred in captivity.

On this gal's birthday, she's the MVP, that is- Most Valuable Primate. As always, the zoo will throw a big party in Colo's honor, complete with special food and gifts, including an Ohio-shaped cake made of peanut butter, applesauce, honey, shredded carrots with Greek yogurt frosting.

Colo is a mother of three. Her family tree includes more than two dozen descendants living at zoos across the country.
