The Columbus Division Of Police is being recognized for leading the nation in praise in 140 characters or less.
Columbus Police had the most positive perception “based on law enforcement mentions on Twitter" based on a joint collaboration between DrugAbuse.com and marketing agency Fractl. The capital city received a 95.8% positive rating for an ‘A’ grade.
The score is the highest in the nation. Columbus was followed by police departments in San Diego, Seattle, Houston and Washington DC.
To gather the data, Fractl analyzed more than 760,000 tweets from January 1 to May 5 2015.
Police departments in Ferguson, MO, Los Angeles and Fort Worth, TX were rating among the lowest.
However, the state of Ohio received an ‘F’ grade regarding police sentiment on Twitter, based on the same data. Nearly half of Americans gave their police department a ‘D’ or worse.
