Mayor Michael Coleman announced Friday that he and his wife, Frankie, are getting a divorce.
The marriage was the second for both.
According to a joint statement released by the Colemans, both intend to remain friends and besupportive of their family endeavors.

"The Coleman family is thankful for the warm support it has received from the community throughthe many years," the statement read.
The couple married in 1984, 10TV News reported.
The mayor adopted Frankie Coleman's children from her first marriage and the couple later hadanother son.
Family members said that they would make no further comments beyond their statement.
