Coloring Book Found In Jail Could Be Laced With LSD

Fairfield County deputies believe a coloring book tinted with an unknown substance could contain a street drug. Learn more.

Fairfield County sheriff's deputies said Friday that a coloring book found inside a jail could be laced with drugs.

Sheriff Dave Phalen said that employees found pages inside a coloring book that were tinted with an unknown substance, 10TV's Jessa Goddard reported.

"I have seen LSD on the street where it is placed on paper and those types of things," Phalen said. "I have seen that on the street. This is the first time we found something like this inside the Fairfield County Jail."

Phalen said that the substance most likely is Ecstasy or LSD.

The coloring book and the loose pages were removed from the jail and given to the Fairfield-Hocking Major Crimes Unit for further testing, Goddard reported.

The results are expected back in the next 90 days.

If the pages contain an illegal drug, the inmate or whoever smuggled the coloring book into the jail will face charges, Phalen said.
