THANKS FOR ALL OF THE COMMUNITY SUPPORT!
WE WERE ABLE TO COLLECT 10,077 TOYS TO HELP FAMILIES AROUND CENTRAL OHIO!
WBNS-10TV teamed up with The Salvation Army, Kroger and Sunny 95 for “The Big 10TV Toy Drive,” a campaign designed to collect thousands of toys for central Ohio kids and families in need.
“The Big 10TV Toy Drive” aims to grow The Salvation Army’s Christmas Cheer program into a market-wide holiday experience. One week before Christmas, The Salvation Army converts the DiSalle Center at the Ohio fairgrounds from an empty space into a toyshop and food pantry. Thousands of volunteers work to help parents choose a toy for their children and stock a large box with all the fixings for a holiday meal for each family.
10TV, Sunny 95, and Kroger are working together to increase community visibility and secure donations. Beginning Thursday, December 4, 10TV and the Salvation Army will provide a secure online option to allow viewers to select one of the 10 most needed toys, in central Ohio, this holiday season. Web users can select and pay for the toy online and it will be added to the local collection totals. People are also able to stop by any one of 5 Kroger Market Place locations (Lewis Center, Graceland, Sawmill, Pickerington and Gahanna), and place a new toy in a collection bin. The online and Kroger campaigns will wrap up on Monday, December 15 at 6:30 p.m.
