A mama bear tore a minivan apart trying to get to her cubs.
Bill Perrin was vacationing with his family in Gatlinburg, Tennessee when they spotted some adorable bear cubs hanging around their minivan.
"We sat there and watched them for 45 minutes thinking it was cute, and then it got old, so we chased the bear cubs off and we couldn't figure out why they didn't go very far," said Perrin.
Finally, they peered inside and discovered why. A full grown bear had locked herself inside the Lexus van.
While trapped, she ripped the leather seats, tore up the interior doors and just about destroyed the car trying to escape. Perrin thinks he knows why she was so desperate to get out.
"What we figure is it (the door) closed behind her, she couldn't get out, the cubs couldn't get in to get her and she went at it inside."
One brave family member quickly opened the door so she could jump out and run off with her family.
Park rangers say this is the time of the year when bears are trying to fatten themselves up for winter.
That family says the first stop when they return home will be to an insurance agent.
